TEMPO Interactive, Medan:The advocacy team of the North Sumatra Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI) is lodging a protest against the actions Malaysia’s maritime security officers towards 24 Indonesian fishermen. According to North Sumatra’s HNSI advocacy chief, Darius, during the fishermen’s time in prison, the security officers reportedly violated the fishermen’s human rights.
“We will convey our written complaint to the Malaysian government representatives in Medan,” Darius said yesterday. The HNSI also plans to meet them personally.
