An inter-island freighter carrying dozens of containers capsized in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara on Friday night, pounded by strong winds and high waves, Antara has reported.
Ahmad Baharudin, a spokesman of the province administration, said in Mataram on Saturday that all crews of the ship were safe.
The ship were on its way to Surabaya, East Java from East Nusa Tenggara.
The local weather agency said that the waters around Sumbawa were currently dangerous for sailing. The agency predicted that strong winds up to 54 kilometer-per-hour and high waves up to five meter would hit the area during the weekend. (dre)
