Nature's GPS: Sharks read magnetic fields for directions

Forget Google Maps -- sharks can read the Earth's magnetic field like a GPS navigator to find their way, a study in Current Biology showed Thursday. 

Lead author Bryan Keller told AFP the paper vindicates a decades-old theory about how the aquatic predators are able to migrate vast distances, swim in arrow-straight lines, and return to their precise point of origin. 

Sharks are also known to have a fine-tuned electrosensing ability that helps them detect prey. 

All these factors led scientists to believe that sharks -- like sea turtles and certain other species -- can glean their position and orientation using the magnetic field generated deep within our planet. 

But there had been no way of proving it, until now. 

For their research, Keller, project leader of Save Our Seas Foundation Florida, decided to study a small member of the shark family, called bonnetheads, that are native to the Gulf of Mexico. 

"The bonnethead returns to the same estuaries each year," said Keller, a biological oceanographer at Florida State University Coastal and Marine Laboratory. 

"This demonstrates that the sharks knows where 'home' is and can navigate back to it from a distant location." 

The team caught 20 juvenile bonnetheads then exposed them to a device called a Merritt coil -- a wooden cube with vertically and horizontally arranged copper wiring running along it, and a shark tank at the center. 

The device was used to simulate magnetic field conditions that corresponded to different locations on Earth, hundreds of kilometers from where the bonnetheads were caught. 

As predicted, the sharks oriented themselves northward when the magnetic conditions simulated a position south of where they were caught. 

They didn't orient themselves in any direction when the coil told them they were already at their home. 

"This work provides clarity for how they maintain navigational success," said Keller. 

He added that it was unlikely that bonnetheads evolved this ability independently of other sharks, and the finding illuminated impressive feats among its cousin species. 

"The great white, for example, has been shown to migrate from South Africa to Australia, returning to the same tagging site the following year in South Africa," he said. 

This movement was over 20,000 kilometers over nine months with the animal displaying an "incredibly straight swimming trajectory." 

Keller said in future studies he'd like to explore the effects of magnetic fields from human sources, such as submarine cables, on sharks.

All of it can be traced to the water cycle - all of it. It's always about the weather, a cycle of weather you've not seen before. Do you remember a few years ago when whales were beaching themselves? Did you notice that this attribute stopped? But while they were beaching themselves every year, many Human Beings were in fear, saying, "It's the end of the world. They're committing suicide."

The whales beached themselves because the magnetics of the earth shifted so greatly that their navigational system [the magnetite in their biology, which is their migration compass] steered them right into the land. The land didn't move; the magnetics did. Therefore, you might say their internal inherited migration map was flawed. The reason it's not happening now is because the calves, the generation beyond the one that beached themselves, figured it out and rewrote the maps. Nature [Gaia] does this. So the next generation didn't repeat it. Instead, it realigned itself to the migratory lay lines and now whales don't beach themselves nearly as often.

The magnetics of the planet continue to shift and the birds are unaware. Like the whales, many of the birds have migrated themselves right into a high place in the atmosphere, which pummeled them to death by freezing rain and hail. Then they fall from the sky. It's the weather cycle. Will they continue to do this? Some will, for awhile, and then they will figure it out and recalibrate. That's what nature does.

You might say, "Well, nature's way is severe." It is not severe. It is a positive learning system that allows generations of birds to be around next time. The few deaths allow for the many to continue their life cycle and their lineage on the earth.

I want you to analyze the fish that have washed up. Let science reveal this as well. I want you to analyze the fish. They have something in common. They're all juveniles. And why is that? What do you know about the water cycle? What do you know about cold water and the life cycle of certain fish and their habits of reproduction? I will tell you the layers of water are changing in temperature and that is going to change the life cycle of the oceans and lakes. The juvenile fish are the most susceptible to death by becoming too cold, especially the ones of the kind that washed up dead. By the tens of thousands, the cold killed them. It is the water cycle. Will it continue? For awhile, until they acclimate, until they recalibrate for the cold - and they will. Nature does that.  ….“

Now for some physics, and I'll call it spiritual physics so it's not too complicated. In 1993, we gave you a book called The End Times. In this book, we made some statements. We talked about the magnetic grid of the earth, and we told you that it had to be there for Human life to exist - and it does. At the time, science didn't agree, but now many are seeing it. We went on to give you the esoterics of it, what my partner calls the woo-woo part. Your DNA, a multidimensional molecule, has within it everything that the Universe knows. It carries your Akashic Record, all of your lifetimes, all of your spiritual purpose, your spiritual being and your karma. Everything is in your DNA. This will never be proven, since it's a spiritual attribute. The DNA creates a field and it's called the Merkabah (a Hebrew word).

We also told you that the magnetic grid of the earth, a multidimensional energy, transfers certain things to your DNA on a day-by-day basis. The grid then becomes a major energy transfer system. That should have connected the dots for some of those who were paying attention - for if the grid changes, dear ones, you do, too. I told you the grid would change more in 10 years than it had in 100, and it did. You can measure your magnetic grid's movement with a compass. Between 1993 and 2002, it moved greatly, more than in any other time in modern Human history. We said this would be, and so it was. In the face of all the prophecy that told you differently, we told you there was a potential for Human Beings to pass the marker, survive, and start a new energy on the planet. We told you this would be the start of peace on Earth, and this is where you sit today. All of those years ago, we told you about the potential of where you sit today, listening to this message, and asking what might be next. Last week, I gave you a channelling of what to expect within the next three years. The message tonight will talk to you about the energies that are going to be manifested beyond that and some of the changes to expect and why they are taking place. Lebanese President Michel Aoun, ally of Israel's arch-foe Hezbollah, seemed to leave the door open to eventual peace with the Jewish state, in an interview with French news channel BFMTV.

Lebanon has technically been at war with neighbouring Israel for decades, with tensions sporadically flaring in the border area in Lebanon's south, stronghold of the Shiite Muslim Hezbollah movement.

Asked in an interview on BFMTV on Saturday whether Lebanon would be prepared to make peace with Israel, Aoun responded: "That depends. We have problems with Israel, we have to resolve them first."

His statement came in the wake of an announcement Thursday that Israel would normalise relations with the United Arab Emirates, only the third Arab state to establish full diplomatic ties with Israel since its creation in 1948.

"It's an independent country," Aoun said of the UAE.

Aoun's Christian Free Patriotic Movement has for years been politically allied with Hezbollah, enabling them to dominate parliament and the government, which resigned on Monday amid outrage over negligence that led to the deadly explosion at Beirut's port that devastated the capital.

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah said on Friday of the Israel-UAE agreement that "it's a betrayal of Jerusalem and the Palestinian people. It's a knife in the back."

A key point of contention between Lebanon and Israel concerns oil and gas resources in the eastern Mediterranean, where both countries have sought bids for exploration in their exclusive economic zones.

The maritime border between the countries is disputed.

Aoun's interview was aired in the aftermath of the Beirut blast on August 4 that killed 177 people and wounded at least 6,500 more, with many blaming systemic corruption and negligence of the entrenched political class for the disaster.

Many Lebanese have demanded the ouster of the entire ruling class, dominated by ex-warlords from the country's 1975-1990 civil war, including of Aoun.

Asked by the BFMTV journalist if he had thought of stepping down, Aoun said, "it's impossible, there would be a vacuum".

Dolphin spotted in port of Amsterdam is reluctant to leave

A lone dolphin has followed a sailing boat carrying a cargo of fair trade coffee and rum from the French coast to Amsterdam’s port and seems reluctant to leave the ship, experts said on Sunday. 

The animal is fit and healthy but rescue organisation SOS Dolfijn said the brackish water is not good for the animal and it may not be able to find enough food. 

‘The animal seems to have developed a close connection with the ship and stayed swimming with it through the sluice gates and now it is in the port,’ said spokesman Eligius Everaarts. 

Attempts to lure the animal back to the open sea are being hindered by the fact that it will have to swim though the sluices at IJmuiden, which means the rescue operation can only happen when the gates are open. 

SOS Dolfijn tried to make the animal follow their boat but after a while it turned and went back to the ship. The schooner which it followed cannot be used to guide the animal back because it must be unloaded first. 

Catching the animal is not option either, the organisation said, because the port is a large area and the manoeuvre could put the animal’s life in danger. 

‘It may make it out on its own bit that will depend on the sluices,’ a spokesperson for the organisation said. 

The adult bottle nose dolphin has been identified as Zafar, a dolphin which has been spotted on the coast of France in 2018 where it was observed to interact with divers. 

The organisation said it will continue to monitor the situation. 

Update Sunday evening: According to broadcaster NOS, the dolphin was successfully encouraged to return to the sea on Sunday afternoon.

Sydney (AFP) - A giant manta ray with several fishing hooks caught below its eye appeared to ask two nearby divers for help in removing them, and then waited patiently for them to do so.

Underwater photographer Jake Wilton was diving off Australia's west coast when the three-metre wide animal moved toward him, footage showed.

"I'm often guiding snorkelers in the area and it's as if she recognised me and was trusting me to help her," Wilton said in a statement Monday.

"She got closer and closer and then started unfurling to present the eye to me."

Incredible footage shows Wilton repeatedly diving down toward the animal and removing the hooks, before the manta ray departs after the final impediment is dislodged.

"She never moved. I'm sure that manta knew that Jake was trying to get the hooks out," said marine biologist and fellow diver Monty Hall.

Manta rays are considered one of the most intelligent underwater creatures and are common off parts of the west coast of Australia.

The ocean giants can grow up to seven meters wide and live for about 50 years.

They don't have the sharp barb of a stingray and are harmless to humans.

Plastic microparticles threaten unique Galapagos fauna

Galapagos (Ecuador) (AFP) - Armed only with gloves and large sacks, park rangers and volunteers are battling the scourge of plastic waste blighting the idyllic Galapagos Islands and their unique creatures.

Tons of plastic waste wash up on the shores of the Galapagos islands where microparticles end up in the stomachs of species found only in the Pacific archipelago 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) west of mainland Ecuador.

Those microparticles, often from waste discarded in big cities from other countries and even continents, are perhaps one of the greatest threats to the iguanas, tortoises, birds and fish of the Galapagos.

The tiny plastic pieces become part of the food chain "that we may later feed on," biologist Jennifer Suarez, a marine ecosystems expert with the Galapagos National Parks (PNG), told AFP.

Yet while those objects may appear solid to the naked eye, when battered against rocks or by the force of waves, microparticles splinter off, which are subsequently ingested by animals.

Every year, and despite the punishing heat and sun, expeditionary groups arrive at Galapagos beaches to survey the damage caused by man.

Sex toys, shoes, lighters, pens and tin cans are amongst the waste found in areas used by animals, including some in danger of extinction.

In uninhabited zones such as Punta Albemarle, in the far north of Isabela Island, where AFP joined a team of cleaners, waste from far and wide was discovered.

"More than 90 percent of the waste gathered doesn't come from Galapagos activities, but rather from South America, Central America and even a great deal of waste with Asian branding," said PNG director Jorge Carrion.

With a population of around 25,000, the archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has tightened its rules regarding plastics use in recent years.

'Chinese brands'

Most of the plastic waste washing up on the Galapagos shores are bottles of Peruvian, Colombian or Panamanian products, and containers with Chinese branding.

That waste "probably comes from the fishing fleets from Asia just outside the Galapagos' exclusive economic area," said Carrion, speaking from the PNG dock in Puerto Ayora, the capital of Santa Cruz Island.

Since 1996, local fishermen have been cleaning the remotest islands and for the last three years, they've been keeping a register.

"This lets us identify the origin of waste on unpopulated coasts," said Suarez.

"Over the last two years of monitoring, we've noticed that the largest number of brands are Peruvian and Chinese."

While currently there is no such legislation, the hope is that this register can be used in the future to make compensation claims against those responsible for environmental harm.

Already in 2019, eight tons of waste has been collected, compared to 24 in the whole of 2018 and just under 6.5 tons the year before.

Park rangers also keep a register, but theirs is of the animals affected by the waste, such as the cormorant that builds its nests using used diapers and plastic bags, or the body of a booby found buried in a pile of rubbish.

'Appeal to consciences'

Another shocking discovery is plastic bags that have been bitten by sea turtles that mistake them for jellyfish, an important part of their diet.

"We have indiscriminately thrown so much waste into the sea that it has turned up at coasts where there are no people, but already there is garbage," Sharlyn Zuniga told AFP.

The 24-year-old clean-up volunteer said she came across pristine beaches with fine white sand, but spoilt by rubbish.

"What I saw was very hard (to take). We're used to seeing the best part of the Galapagos in pictures and postcards," she said.

Large bags of plastic waste collected on the archipelago are sent to mainland Ecuador to be incinerated.

"We're getting rid of the waste that accumulates in these places, to avoid it breaking down and turning into microparticles," said Suarez.

Over time Carrion hopes less and less waste will be collected but 2019 is expected to turn up as much as 2018.

"We need to go beyond just collecting waste. We need to appeal to consciences on a global level, so people stop throwing waste into the sea," said Carrion.

Ocean clean-up halted as plastic waste project hits new snag

A Dutch project to clear plastic waste out of the Pacific ocean has had a second setback in a month – this time, one of the end parts of the boom used to catch rubbish has broken off.

This ‘structural malfunctioning of the cleanup system’ means the team is returning to port earlier than planned, the project founder Boyan Slat said on the organisation’s website. 

The 18 metre piece of the boom which has fractured off contains sensors and satellite communication systems. 

‘We are, of course, quite bummed about this as we hoped to stay out for a bit longer to collect more data on plastic-system interaction, and it introduces an additional challenge to be solved,’ Slat said. 

The boom is now being towed back to Hawaii for repairs.

In early December it emerged that the plastic catcher, a 600 metre floating tube with a skirt attached to sweep up the plastic debris, was not moving fast enough to be able to hold on to the plastic. However, the problem is ‘fixable’, Slat said at the time. 

‘Although we would have liked to end the year on a more positive note, we believe these teething troubles are solvable, and the cleanup of the great Pacific garbage patch will be operational in 2019,’ he said.

London (AFP) - Two beluga whales performing in a Shanghai aquarium are to be flown to a new sanctuary in Iceland, giving hope to more than 3,000 captive cetaceans as the popularity of marine shows wanes.

Little White and Little Grey will be taken next year from Changfeng Ocean World to Klettsvik Bay, organisers told a press conference at the Sea Life London Aquarium on Tuesday.

The 12-year-old female cetaceans will still be in human care in the netted-off sea inlet as it is thought they will never survive on their own in the wild.

But the founders said it will give them a better life -- and help research into how captive whales could one day be prepared for release out of human dependency.

British-based Merlin Entertainments operates attractions including Legoland, The Tussauds Group and the Sea Life aquarium.

It took over Changfeng Ocean World in 2012 and started looking for a new environment to house Little White and Little Grey.

Originally from Russian Arctic waters, it is thought they were two or three years old when captured. They weigh around 900 kilogrammes and are around four metres long.

Their 30-hour transfer planned for next year will involve stretchers and transport semi-submerged in tanks, by truck, chartered flight and then ferry.

'Showing the way'

They will be assessed in a care pool before being released into Klettsvik Bay at Heimaey, one of the Westman Islands off the south coast of Iceland.

The bay, which is leased, measures up to 32,000 square metres with a depth of up to 10 metres.

Klettsvik is where Keiko, the killer whale in the 1993 film "Free Willy", was flown in 1998. The orca was fully released in 2002 but did not fully adapt to life in the wild and died 18 months later in a Norwegian fjord.

"We hope that by showing the way with our sanctuary, we will help to encourage the rehabilitation of more captive whales into natural environments and one day bring an end to whale and dolphin entertainment shows," said Andy Bool, head of the Sea Life Trust charity.

Campaigners have criticised Merlin for continuing the beluga whale shows ahead of the transfer and pointed to the irony of choosing Iceland as a destination since it openly defies an international ban on hunting whales.

The Shanghai whales are being trained to hold their breath for longer, become physically stronger to cope with tides and currents, and are putting on blubber to help them cope with the colder water temperatures.

A third beluga whale at the aquarium, Jun Jun, died from a bleed on the brain in June last year, aged 17.

Belugas typically live for 40 to 60 years.

More than 3,000 whales and dolphins are kept in captivity and it is hoped that up to eight other belugas could join Little White and Little Grey in the future.

"There is a real alternative now for these animals," Bool told AFP.

"The argument has been in the past that you can't just put them back in the sea -- and that's right. But hopefully, people will see what we're doing and want to replicate it."

Cathy Williamson, from the Whale and Dolphin Conservation charity, said public support for aquarium shows was waning.

"The world's first whale sanctuary presents a pathway towards the end of the keeping of whales and dolphins in captivity," she said.

Greetings, dear ones, I am Kryon of Magnetic Service. Tonight I want to give you a story. It's a love story, and it also happens to encompass the history of the planet, the now and the future. These are things I want to tell you and things I want to qualify for you. Let's call it, "The State of the Earth in June 2017.

This is a love story because of where it begins and how it starts. If you go back 24 years, the public channellings of Kryon began in Kryon Book One. The information was basically an introduction to the shift, which I and so many others began telling you was coming. It wasn't esoteric information from me, but rather something that the ancestors and the ancients all knew about. They had been watching the stars in the skies for thousands of years. They realized that the stars changed subtly from decade to decade and they started to understand the mechanics of the solar system and the earth's orbit around the sun way before modern telescopes.

They figured out that the earth goes around the sun and that there had to be a slight wobble to the planet itself to make the sky change as it did. They even computed the very slow duration of the wobble, and through time, prophecies developed around it. However, the prophecies were so similar between these ancients that even today those who study this are amazed. How could these stories be so similar when the ancients didn't know each other? How could the information be so much alike even though vast distances and centuries separated them?

The ancient calendars that you are familiar with began their long count (more than 5,000 years long), and the talk about the potential of consciousness shift began. The end of the calendars were set to happen in 2012 - the "centering" of the wobble.

In 1989, my partner started speaking for me, two years after The Harmonic Convergence. By 1993, my partner received and published Kryon Book One. It was a revelation of what was coming: The shift may occur now that many things had happened to eliminate the potential of world war. I told you why the Kryon group was here, what was going on, what might happen next and some of the prophecies of what to expect. It was a cryptic book - a small one, for my partner was just learning how to be in total coherence with the central source (channelling). Channelling is enhanced intuition and the bridge to the other side of the veil. The book revealed the feeling of complete love and compassion for all humanity.

In this first book of Kryon, I gave you information about the changes in the magnetics of the planet and more. I also gave a few sentences that contained hints of a coming weather shift. My partner interpreted it in this way: He said that there would be times and places where it would rain where it never had before, and places where the rain would stop where it had always rained before. In other words, massive climate change was in the works - and that was in 1993.

This was the precursor for what you are now experiencing on the planet. It's not a story of doom! This is a love story, dear ones, and the story is the love of God, the love of the central source, the love of all there is - Gaia itself - for the Human Being. The title of the book was The End Times, since it was the end of the old energy.

What is happening now is all about you, dear ones. The old souls on the planet are here on purpose and on time. There is no mistake you are sitting in your seat at this time. Some of you are just learning about these things and some of you are very aware of these things. Each of you has his/her own path and each Human has a unique decision of what to believe and not believe. But you are here on purpose!

I'm here tonight to tell you a tremendous love story, that in 1993 there was a shift coming and that the earth itself was preparing for it. The actual physics of the planet was posturing for the new Human, so that you would be able to advance yourself, learn about the coherence with the planet, with your own selves. All the information was talking about a time when humanity would start to come out of the old energy which you call Human nature. This term referred to how Humans behaved. It never shifted and it never changed, but now it was going to.

The prophecies were not about events as much as they were about consciousness shift. It didn't matter if they were written in the Mayan calendar or on the Hopi Prophecy Rock, they were the same. They all spoke about different paths Humans would be forced to take because of the shift, but a split between dark and light was the subject. In their own ways, they spoke about a planet that was in great transition and that if humanity hadn't destroyed itself by the centering of the wobble (December 21, 2012, the center of the precession of the equinoxes), that something amazing would begin - an evolution of humanity in a way that you had never seen before. It would start with improved and wiser consciousness and all that went with it. We told you in 1993 that you must have an earth that was prepared for it, so the magnetic grid would shift, the weather would change, and even your place in space would be altered. You have seen all of them. However, of these, let's talk about the weather first.

The Predicted Weather Shift

For many years, I have spoken on what is happening with your weather. When I began, my information was highly controversial, for it did not match what you were being told by the media. For those same years, you have seen that which was called "the warming". I told you that it was actually the beginning of a "cooling". I did this to head off what always happens with the doomsayers: I wanted to set the record straight before others would come in and build another doom scenario out of the weather shift, which is very common for humanity. Fear is the old energy's friend, and change always creates fear.

I want to make a statement: The doom scenario of humanity is so ingrained in you that it has become a habit. Whenever you see something unusual, the first thing you think of is doom! Dear one, you were trained to think that way! In the old energy, it came from history, from scripture, from your parents, from all those who would socially join in, and in conspiracy theories that had all of humanity coming to a horrible end - and seeming to enjoy themselves while they did it! The doom scenario, dear ones, is a habit. Your current movies don't help, with some of them being doom scenarios about weather and earth changes. You're still not through it. The habit is alive and well.

However, this is a love story. I want to tell you about the weather.

If you would like to scientifically track what's happening, simply look to solar activity. That is the reason and always was. Kryon did't bring this to humanity. You can see the cycles of weather on the planet from the cycles of the solar activity as recorded in history. They correlate, and it's happened before. What you see today is not approaching doom. It's not a mistake that another cycle is coming, and we told you it would, 14 years ago. Listen, the cycle comes whether there are Humans here or not. Should we say that again? The cycle comes whether there are Humans here or not.

This is controversial. Let the records of the ice cores and tree rings show that the cycle is very consistent. It starts with warming and high carbon dioxide levels, and it eventually goes into a place of cooling. This cycle has been seen over and over throughout the centuries in various stages of intensity.

This time, right on schedule, there is the beginning of a mini ice age. People say, "When?" If you have been paying attention, you don't need a prophet. Instead, look at the cycle from the charts of the past and the behavior of the sun. The timing is there, but I'll tell you anyway. You will start seeing the cold portion within 15 years (2032).

Some of you are still enjoying the warming section of it. That will slowly start to move. It must come before the cooling, and that scenario is known by those who study the planet's dynamics. The issue so far is that you really haven't heard much from this expert group, since they are often employed by the government or have university grants. So what they may wish to tell you is still at odds with the popular story that others wish you to believe.

A mini ice age is coming. "Kryon, isn't that doom for the planet?"  Many have seen the artist's rendering of major earth cities under ice and all of the other things that go very well with science fiction movies. That's simply a painting of someone's doom scenario, not reality based in the history of the cycle. If you want to know what a mini ice age is like, just flash back in history and study what took place in about 1650. That was a mini ice age. Due to the change in the Gulf Stream (the ocean), the river Thames froze in London. Dear ones, it was cold, but it did not doom the planet. That's a mini ice age.

That's what you're facing, and I'll say it again. If you live in a cold climate, heed this advice: It's going to get colder. Get off the grid! Within the next 15 years, find a way of producing electricity independently or in smaller groups. This can be done neighborhood-wide or separately in homes. You're going to need this, dear ones, because the grid as it exists right now all over the world is not prepared for this coming cold, and the grid will fail. That's not doom and gloom, that's just practical, commonly known information. Your electricity infrastructure is delicate, too delicate. Prepare for a cold spell that may last for a couple of decades. That's all it is. Technology is racing forward to allow this. Don't let your politics get in the way of your survival.

Why is this a love story? Listen: Why does Gaia do this? What's the purpose of these kinds of things? I'll give it to you one more time - it's controversial, even unbelievable to many. How many of you here have fish tanks in your homes for the care of fish? Those listening and reading: How many have had, or have, fish tanks? For those who do, I'll tell you something that you already know: You can do whatever you need to the water over time to condition it and make it last. You can change the pH level, you can change the temperatures, and you can aerate. However, there eventually comes a time where you've got to change the water! This is what the temperature changes are about on the planet.

This is controversial. The planet can't just "change the water". It does it instead with a "reboot of life in the ocean" using the water cycle. Watch for evidence of this as it occurs, and then remember this channel. This weather cycle is to refresh the life in the ocean so that everyone on the planet will have needed food from the ocean. Gaia does this by itself, has done it before, and it does it for a reason - so it will not stagnate.

Dear ones, indeed, you have put compromising things into the air and the water, but it has not caused this cycle. We have said for a very long time, stop killing the environment! The reason? It's going to kill you, not Gaia. Gaia is spectacularly resilient and will survive anything you do. However, it is you who may not survive if you continue polluting. All this is starting to change with your awareness, and you're starting to see this and move with it. But Humans are not causing the current weather shift. This will be known eventually.

What is happening has happened before, and it's almost like a reboot for the oceans and it carries a lot of dichotomous events. You're going to see reports of a dying ocean, but at the same time you're going to see unusual reports of too many fish and other sea life in places that were supposed to have a decline. You're going to see the life cycle of the ocean itself start to change and reboot.

The chief player in this renewal is a place you would not expect: Antarctica. I want you to watch for magic in Antarctica. It has always been the core of the refreshing of microbes and other kinds of life in your oceans and it's especially active during these mini ice ages. The process will cause currents under the sea to be filled with new life, delivering it to both hemispheres almost like an under-sea conveyor belt.

So how does this weather shift affect humanity in this love story? How does that work exactly? It means that you, as well as the major life cycle of Earth, will have enough to eat! The ocean is the giver of life, food for the planet, for the life cycle of Gaia itself. The earth must do this for you, and  it's all very related to the solar activity and much more.

The love story continues, does it not? Look at the timing. The ocean refreshes itself right after the shift. What is the shift? It is a renewal, an absolute renewal of civilization as you know it. You passed the marker where destruction and termination were expected. You're overdue for a war, and you know that. The sociologists are scratching their heads. The scientists are, too. This is a very unusual time for humanity. Here in your seminar, there's a team of people who are teaching you the truth of what is happening and they are scientists! The miracles that are before you and what they're describing, dear ones, is the love story. The earth is being prepared so that you will have enough food. The shift is your decision, against all odds from your prophecies, to stay on this planet and not destroy yourselves. You are headed for a higher consciousness, and the ideas that are starting to come to you will eventually be accepted and not rejected. It will be the first time in your civilization that these ideas will start to be acceptable.

Regarding higher consciousness - eventually there will come a time where you won't kill each other. I've said this before, dear ones. Listen to me - the end of war on Earth is not the end-all goal. It's the beginning, for when there is no war, inventions will be given to you and physics will be given to you - new physics that you will not weaponize. This is where it really begins. There will be new paradigms of feeding yourselves, warming yourselves, and creating far better health for all. Slowly, a higher sense of integrity and compassion will create the end of suffering for the planet and the beginning of politics that make sense, governments who get along and a general coming together of civilization. You won't overpopulate yourselves either, as the doomsayers tell you. There is a reason for population explosion, and it's not mathematics. It's ignorance. How do I know about what is coming? I've seen it, I've seen it! You haven't, so you take this information, walk outside, and roll your eyes and say, "Well, maybe not. Maybe not. It's a fantasy that can't happen."

Socially, right now it begins. Did you notice? Nothing is going to remain the same. When these changes begin, the reaction will often be fear. When you see the economy starting to shift and change and a new paradigm begins, there will be fear. The new paradigms are here to actually save old systems that are systemically broken. But when it begins, many are not going to like it. Humans want everything to be the same and, when change starts, there will be those who will stand up and say, "See? It's the doom of the planet! Here it comes! We told you so." They're already doing it.

You're five years into the shift. Mother, how long does it take to raise a child? I'm hearing from the audience 40 years, but that's not always right [laughter]. Let's call it 20 years. During that time, the love story from you to the child is always there, no matter what happens. When they are 3 or 5 or 11 or 17, the love story remains no matter if they are kicking and screaming, calling you names, or frustrated at life. The love story continues even when they're going through self-worth issues or depression. You are there and you do your best, because the love of a parent is unsurpassed.

You are birthing a new energy and a new paradigm on the planet, and you are five years old [time since the shift began]. You're starting to stir and ask questions: "Is this really happening? Is this really a shift, or is it the end of the world as we were told years ago?" This is Human nature to go into fear no matter what.

Come back in time with me, thousands of years ago. Come back and pretend for a moment you are in a small group called the Israelites. You are about ready to do something profound - to move out of Egypt. You have suffered years and years of horror as slaves. Your people don't live very long and you know why. Generation after generation, you were enslaved, but suddenly it changed. You have seen this with your own eyes, Israelite. You have seen the miracles take place one after another, which changed the pharaoh's mind. You saw them all right up to the big one - the passover. You got to see it with your own eyes. This wasn't something esoteric. It was real life.

It was time to escape, and you gathered your things and you moved as a small group across the desert, always looking behind you for trouble. You came across the Red Sea (then called the Reed Sea) and you got across it and pharaoh didn't follow you. That is the miracle of miracles! You made it! You are free! You had seen it with your own eyes, and it etched a memory into your brain. You cognized it, and it was real.

Then you walked in the desert toward the promised land - your new land. But it seemingly never came. You started to go across the desert in circles, and the cry was, "Here it comes! The promised land is coming." Yet it didn't come fast enough, did it? Within five years, you'd lost some of your profoundly wise seniors who were the core of the exit. The ones who remained tried their best to give you more guidance for patience, but it fell on deaf ears. The young people were starting to object to the leadership. The profound civilization that had personally seen the miracles of "The One God" started to doubt and create other gods. It simply wasn't happening fast enough for anyone, and the group was frustrated. Do you recognize the pattern? Be careful, dear ones, that you recognize slow growth as needed and the way of wisdom. Do not become so impatient that you lose track of what has happened.

I sat on a stage in Israel not so long ago and told present-day Israelis something they didn't want to hear. I told them they were still walking in circles and that the promised land is the New Jerusalem. They were walking in circles with the old paradigm from their parents: hatred and fear and war and the expectation of the same from the other side. I told them they would continue to walk in circles until they dropped the old ways. Other former enemies of only 70 years ago had dropped the old consciousness, but they never did - even after more than a thousand years. It was time, and they would lead the way to peace on Earth.

I am going to give you profound truth right now, dear ones. The love of God is not going to terminate this planet when you're only five. Everything that has happened has been with your own free choice. The precession of the equinoxes has a time frame as it moves through the stripe in the sky [the Milky Way]. It took 18 years to get to the center [the shift of December 21, 2012] and will take 18 years to come out of it. It adds to 36 years combined - a nine completion.

You're only five years into an 18-year window of shift. We told you that this is the time where you can make a difference. Listen to what has been presented this day, and don't fear that which others tell you you should fear. A mini ice age is coming to cleanse the ocean and to feed this planet, yet there are those who say the earth is doomed and you're going to freeze to death. I guess that's how much God loves you?

Can you imagine going through all of this - going through the shift, starting to have all this new information available, starting to have all of the science that is coming, successfully fighting the dark army - and then God and Gaia snuff you out? How does it feel so far? Dear ones, that is a fantasy of doom that is the residue of a very old energy.

I want you to celebrate the love of God and the cycles that are here. They are new for you, so you have to see what they mean. You're going to have to rewrite the doom and gloom scenario that you have grown up with and continue to hear about.

You had a movie the other night, a different kind of science fiction film [speaking of the movie Arrival, which was shown to the attendees]. It's one of the first of its kind in years and years with aliens who visit Earth, and they are a lot like you in their consciousness. They need your help. In the story, they didn't come to destroy you; they didn't bring great weapons; they didn't come to steal your gold or your oceans. What a concept!

There is life in the Universe, dear ones, that is far more advanced than you are. This is because they have been here far, far longer than you. They are far more evolved. I'm not saying they have bigger brains. I'm talking about the fact that they have compassion and wisdom and intelligence far beyond yours. They settled their own peace problems millennia before you did. They look at you, but they have a hands-off policy because you have free choice. They've always looked at you. They come and they go and never "announce themselves". You've been seeing many of them for centuries, but they keep their distance because you are not ready yet.

You're about to experience more changes. We told you this morning that darkness smiles when you're fearful. It's up to you how much smiling goes on. We told you you cannot kill darkness, and that the only way to diminish it is to create more light. The more light there is, the less darkness you will have on the planet. You are right now in the cusp of major social discovery. Did you hear what was presented on this stage today? Science is beginning to understand compassion, coherence and the meaning and purpose of the heart. They are finding out that this coherence creates healing, large shifts in thinking, and is responsible for bringing compassion to those who didn't think that was possible. Dear one, this is the start of major benevolent change, not the beginning of doom. I want you to remember that.

When you leave this place and listen to others, there will always be those who tell you that "the end is near". When my partner was a child, the first thing he learned in his church was, "The end is near." He continued to hear this theme from others for years, "The end is near." It's always near, it seems. This is what your society has expected in so many ways for decades. Therefore, the box of reality  you have grown up with almost demands that you be afraid. We've asked you to disassemble the box. Maybe it's time to create a new paradigm of belief that says that all the other boxes are shattered that came before.

Old soul, you are the forerunners of everything coming. The shift is the reason you're sitting in this room or listening to this channel. Old soul, take this seriously. If somebody tells you it's "the end of the world", I want you to smile and tell them why it's not. Tell them that God loves them too much for that. That's an old message developed by men and not God.

What's happening now is the greatest love story of all - how much God loves you. You made it through the shift and you began to climb a hill of change. Frightening? It can be. Scary? It can be. Difficult? It will be. Who better to do this than one who has lived hundreds of lives and has the wisdom of the Akash to pull on? Who better to help take the planet through all this? The answer is "you".

That's the greatest love story of all. It's between you and spirit. Can you feel it? Can you feel perhaps the coherence today between you and I as I give you truth? It's news that is good, fresh and promising. You'll see. Things are not always as they seem.

Go from this place differently than you came. Understand you are not alone in any of this. That's the message of Kryon. Let it be so.

“… The Weather

Let's talk about the weather. We retreat to exactly what we told you before in this very chair. The water cycle is a cooling cycle, not a heating cycle. You're going to have more severe winters and storms. It's going to get colder. But it gets warmer before it gets colder. That is the cycle, and it has always been the cycle. You can see it in the rings of the trees and the cores of the ice. Don't let your scientists pull the political wool over your eyes for their own purposes. Start seeing these things for what they are. It's a recurring cycle based on four Earth alignment attributes, including the wobble (the precession). You're in this cycle. Prepare.

The beginnings of it will be with you from now at least until the end of the 2012 36-year window, and you can watch it work. The first thing that happens is that the ice melts at the poles, but not completely. It's the way it has happened before. As the redistribution of weight from the poles to the oceans of the earth takes place, the weight is redistributed to the crust, and that creates earthquakes. And the earthquakes that will be the most powerful are the ones that are closest to the poles. We told you that some time ago. So it's not a mystery that suddenly you have some of the most powerful earthquakes that you've ever had. Not only that, but a cooling ocean creates larger storms.

What do the conspiracists do with all this? "See? We're doomed. Here it comes," they say. "Here it comes! The end is here!" Twenty-two years ago, we gave you the information that is happening today. We told you about the weather. We told you to get ready for it, but we still haven't told you why the water cycle is needed. We've hinted at it since it is very controversial, and we'll lose many readers right here and now. Here's the prediction: The scientists are going to laugh and biologists are going to scratch their heads and roll their eyes.

The Refreshing of the Cycle of Life

When you change the temperature of the waters of the planet, it changes the life cycle of the ocean and it eventually renews itself. The life cycle of the planet has a limit to its viability over time. There has to be a refreshing of the very cycle of life, and this is what the water cycle does. Are there any places you've seen too many fish lately? Yes. Millions of salmon in the north. Odd that it was in Alaska, isn't it? Alaska is very close to the poles where the water temperature is being felt first. Oh, again the experts will tell you that this is not the reason. It's about hatcheries and rivers. But nobody predicted this, did they? Science is fast to give you reasons, but slow to give you logic in advance. They always seem to be surprised.

We are saying things we haven't said before. Again, watch for this, an actual change in the life cycle of the planet's oceans because of the water temperature shift. Biologists are going to have to start redesigning the paradigm of how everything works, including reefs, ocean bottoms, and how plankton survive and reproduce. Listen, this is not the first time that the life cycle has been refreshed! But again, this may take generations of humanity to complete. In the process, you may again lose species. This is normal. Gaia is slow, and Humans are impatient. Your textbooks may someday tell of how naive humanity was back in 2011 when they tried to blame weather changes on everything but a natural cycle. Now you know why there is a water cycle.

So what does that tell you about Gaia? Gaia is beginning the cycle of refreshing life on over-fished oceans. It tells you that in the cracks, there is love and caring about the Humans who live on the earth. There's a reason you're here. There's a plan here, and a benevolent Universe and quantum energy with intelligent design. All is there for you, precious, sacred Human Being. …”

"... The Role of the Sun

As you move into this new energy, or what some have even called "radiation", you should know how it works, for it's very related to your Sun. Physically, it affects the magnetic field of the Sun (the heliosphere), which then in turn is blasted to your own magnetic field via the solar wind. That's the physics of it, but dear one, let me give you the esoterics of it. This has been the plan all along, that if you made it as a Human race past the 2012 marker, you would pass into this area of space and the magnetics would shift, allowing Human consciousness to change. Dear ones, this was always here waiting for you to pass the marker! This is why I came 26 years ago and told you the magnetics would shift. This is an evolutionary energy that is going to affect your Sun - the heliosphere of your Sun - which then will pass to the magnetic field of the earth, a field that has now been repostured for this new consciousness.

Oh, there are those intellectuals who would say, "Well, what if we had destroyed ourselves as the prophecies said we would? What if there were no Humans to receive this?" It's simple. No Humans would have been here, but the planet would have still moved into this new area of space and the same energies would have been there, but you would not have been. Simple. But indeed, here you are!

So now you can see that the prophecy from the indigenous is also being fulfilled, for they told you about the changes coming after the precession of the equinoxes (December 2012). How could they have had this prophecy about your movement into a new place around your galaxy? Think about it! These things are not new, and even the ancients told you it was coming! They may not have known the specifics of science, but their prophecy is the same one I have: New consciousness is coming.

Dear ones, I want you to continue to put together these pieces physically in what you can see. As we told you, these changes affect your Sun. The heliosphere of your Sun changes you magnetic grid. Now, for this all to work, the Sun had to be quiet for this. I want you to ask an astronomer about the Sun and the cycles of the Sun. Ask about what period of radiance the Sun is in at the moment. The astronomer will tell you that it appears to be one of the quietest cycles that the Sun has ever seen. Solar flares and sunspots are disturbances in the multidimensional field that surrounds the Sun, so these had to be gone while the new energies were starting to be implemented. For this all to work, the Sun had to be as quiet as possible, and it is. The Sun's quiet time is also affecting your weather, and we told you that, too. Due to its quietness, you're in a cycle of weather that we also predicted [a cold time coming] that also has a lot to do with the energy that's coming. That's physical. Ask an astronomer, “Are they worried about all this?” Some of them are and others are not. But it is affecting you and the planet right now. Now you know why the magnetic grid was changed when it was changed and why. That's physical. .."

"The weather you have today, and all the alarming attributes of it, is a scenario of what was scheduled to happen on Earth anyway. I review again that the weather changes you are seeing prophesied by myself, 21 years ago, are not a surprise. The changes are not caused by the pollutants you put in the air. You call it global warming and that's a nice phrase, and perhaps that will get you to put less pollutants in the air – a very good thing. But what you are seeing in the weather shift today was not caused by Humans putting things into the air. It would have happened anyway in about 300 years."

"We've called this process the water cycle, since it's all about water, not about air. The water is the predominant attribute of Gaia and of the weather cycle you're seeing. More predominant is the temperature of it. The cycle is ice to water and water to ice, and has been repeated on this planet over and over and over. It is not new. It is not exceptional. It is not frightening. But it's a cycle that modern humanity has not seen before, and it's a long cycle that is beyond the life span of a Human Being. “… 4 - Energy (again)

The natural resources of the planet are finite and will not support the continuation of what you've been doing. We've been saying this for a decade. Watch for increased science and increased funding for alternate ways of creating electricity (finally). Watch for the very companies who have the most to lose being the ones who fund it. It is the beginning of a full realization that a change of thinking is at hand. You can take things from Gaia that are energy, instead of physical resources. We speak yet; again about geothermal, about tidal, about wind. Again, we plead with you not to over-engineer this. For one of the things that Human Beings do in a technological age is to over-engineer simple things. Look at nuclear - the most over-engineered and expensive steam engine in existence!

Your current ideas of capturing energy from tidal and wave motion don't have to be technical marvels. We've told you that one of the greatest natural resources of the planet, which is going to shift and change and be mysterious to you, is fresh water. It's going to be the next gold, dear ones. So, we have also given you some hints and examples and again we plead: Even before the potentials of running out of it, learn how to desalinate water in real time without heat. It's there, it's doable, and some already have it in the lab. This will create inexpensive fresh water for the planet. 

There is a change of attitude that is starting to occur. Slowly you're starting to see it and the only thing getting in the way of it are those companies with the big money who currently have the old system. That's starting to change as well. For the big money always wants to invest in what it knows is coming next, but it wants to create what is coming next within the framework of what it has "on the shelf." What is on the shelf is oil, coal, dams, and non-renewable resource usage. It hasn't changed much in the last 100 years, has it? Now you will see a change of free choice. You're going to see decisions made in the boardrooms that would have curled the toes of those two generations ago. Now "the worst thing they could do" might become "the best thing they could do." That, dear ones, is a change of free choice concept. When the thinkers of tomorrow see options that were never options before, that is a shift. That was number four.”

Let us talk for a moment about Japan, and then I'll close the day of messages. There are thousands of souls on my side of the veil and they're just fine, more than fine. We have spoken so often of what happens at the Wind of Birth. I told you, before they even came in, they saw the potential. I looked in their eyes. "You may not last long. You know that, don't you? You're coming into this planet and you may not be here very long. And the passing that you will have with your family will not be pleasant, if any ever are. Why would you come in anyway?" I want to tell you what they said. When a soul has the mind of God, it understands fully what generates peace and what generates energy shift. You can clearly see what generates what the planet needs the most when you are about to arrive. So they said, "We're going to be part of one of the biggest compassion events the planet has ever seen." One earthquake, one tsunami. All of those who left that day will change the earth forever. And it already has. It was the same for the last tsunami as well.

Every single one of them on my side of the veil is getting ready to come back. Many old souls were involved, and just for a moment, if they could give you any information, if they could talk to you right now, if they could speak your language and look into your eyes, they would thank you for your compassion for them and those who are left. And they would say, "Be with those family members who are still alive. Enter their hearts every day and give them peace and keep them from crying, because we're OK."

Nuclear Power Revealed

So let me tell you what else they did. They just showed you what's wrong with nuclear power. "Safe to the maximum," they said. "Our devices are strong and cannot fail." But they did. They are no match for Gaia.

It seems that for more than 20 years, every single time we sit in the chair and speak of electric power, we tell you that hundreds of thousands of tons of push/pull energy on a regular schedule is available to you. It is moon-driven, forever. It can make all of the electricity for all of the cities on your planet, no matter how much you use. There's no environmental impact at all. Use the power of the tides, the oceans, the waves in clever ways. Use them in a bigger way than any designer has ever put together yet, to power your cities. The largest cities on your planet are on the coasts, and that's where the power source is. Hydro is the answer. It's not dangerous. You've ignored it because it seems harder to engineer and it's not in a controlled environment. Yet, you've chosen to build one of the most complex and dangerous steam engines on Earth - nuclear power.

We also have indicated that all you have to do is dig down deep enough and the planet will give you heat. It's right below the surface, not too far away all the time. You'll have a Gaia steam engine that way, too. There's no danger at all and you don't have to dig that far. All you have to do is heat fluid, and there are some fluids that boil far faster than water. So we say it again and again. Maybe this will show you what's wrong with what you've been doing, and this will turn the attitudes of your science to create something so beautiful and so powerful for your grandchildren. Why do you think you were given the moon? Now you know.

This benevolent Universe gave you an astral body that allows the waters in your ocean to push and pull and push on the most regular schedule of anything you know of. Yet there you sit enjoying just looking at it instead of using it. It could be enormous, free energy forever, ready to be converted when you design the methods of capturing it. It's time.

So in closing, do you understand what you're seeing? You're seeing intelligent design, quantum energy and high consciousness. You are seeing changes in Human nature. You're seeing countries putting things together instead of separating. You are seeing those who don't want war and instead want peace, good schools for their children, safety in their streets and a say in their government. We told you it was going to happen this way.
